Summary: The study of the morphology of Dr. Antonio Ricaldi Street homes in Upper city of Porto Seguro in the state of Bahia aims to clarify the limits of the influence of Portuguese architecture in constructing houses of the historic site that listed by IPHAN since 1973. one was conducted comparative study of the typology of houses of the same architectural complex and through theoretical reference the history of Portuguese architecture and urban development in the first settlements in Brazil is presented more like Portuguese typological approach the houses of all studied in Porto Seguro. The field research was conducted in Upper town of Porto Seguro 2012 to 2014. The cut chosen for the study were 25 houses in the street Dr. Antonio Ricaldi, with emphasis on Edson Ramalho Jr house number 65; for its relevance in the conservation of typology as an example more like a vernacular2 door and window similar to the primitive buildings of the site. This house has a special role due to its prime location within the site and as a reference point in the history of Portuguese architecture in Brazil. The use of the house as a museum: Historic House happened 1996 to 2004 as a model of cultural and educational projects to list to the Upper City, aiming on use, storage, dissemination and sustainability of historical and cultural heritage. Raised documentation to the research is relevant to the stimulus of vernacular architecture and a reference to the memory of Portuguese architecture in Brazil. Encouraging new studies and developments on the subject, to a historic site understudied, in a region of great tourist attraction in Brazil but without projects aimed at due conservation, presentation and use of sustainably site.
