Summary: The research examines the creative process of artist Rosana Paste with an emphasis on the development of the poetic project for the “Monumento ao Imigrante” (2010), to be built in Venda Nova do Imigrante - ES. The work aims to be a tribute to the trajectory and legacy of immigrants in the region, integrating itself into the urban space as a symbol of local identity. The study of the monument's sculptural project reveals developments in the artist's memory and ancestry, as well as her history and cultural identity, which are connected with her territorial origin in multiple relationships. The investigation of files and documents demonstrates aspects of the artist's creative essence and aspects of the genesis of artistic thought, highlighting elements of imagery and symbolism, associated with memory, affection, the body, culture, revealed in the chosen materiality. The Process Criticism and Imaginary Cartography approach analyzes structured poetic elements as a representation of community ties, their relationship with local culture and artistic partnerships. When investigating the intertwining between the artist and the consolidation of the cultural and historical landmark, the procedural marks and the subjectivity expressed in the materiality of the braúnas become evident. The materiality of the braúnas proves to be significant for the Espírito Santo soil, not only as an artistic support, but the very content that is intended to be achieved.
