Summary: This work aims to analyze some portraits of Queen Elizabeth I and its reconfiguration in the films from the point of view of costumes in three contemporary film works. It seeks to investigate the portraits from an iconographic point of view in order to establish reconfigurations with the history of clothing and to extract significances about the process of costume creation that is based on the portraits and the cultural leaps that may exist between them, in the representation of power.
Keywords: Elizabeth I; portrait; clothing; costume; film.
