Summary: The present study discusses the recurrent aspects of appropriation and transmutation in the personal poetry of the artist Leda Catunda, based on the cut of her work in the 1980s and 1990s. In this period, which configures her entry into the Brazilian arts circuit, her work permeates By means of various means of expression, promoting a mixture of various languages ​​of the field of art, generating works that result in transmuted forms, often in unusual supports, that extrapolate the pictorial plane and project beyond the wall. Seeking to analyze its artistic course, the constitutive arguments are constructed establishing a dialogue with the history of Brazilian art and critical thoughts pertinent to the evolution of art in the period. The discussions are based on the support of works by the artist and other names in the history of art, highlighted as being relevant to illustrate the focal points for the development of the research.
