Summary: The main objective of this study was to analyze the watercolors produced by Fayga Ostrower at the end of 1990’s. In her art technic, the artist made use of freedom of gestures and shapes. The issue that has permeated this study was to understand how color theory can be checked in her plastic and academic production. To this end, we present the hypothesis that Ostrower managed to unite their vast theoretical production to her artistic production. In this way, there are concomitant aspects of her theory and practice.
For the investigation, we used books written by the own artist as analyzing texts of experts that debates matters on the plastic work as Ostrower’s writing also. It was likewise considered published artist’s interviews on newspapers and magazines, as well as texts written by critics that were published on catalogs of her exhibitions. Finally, matters that permeate the creation process were addressed, the awakening of visual perception and the human psyche, for treating the essence of her works.
