Summary: This paper presents an investigation about the role played by mobile devices as mediators of a new social reality in which behaviors, relations and events are guided by a hybrid logic that works between the virtual and physical (non-virtual). We start by presenting an analysis of the new subjectivities that were developed from contemporary changes, also due to the mobile devices. For a historical view, the development of digital technologies is analyzed on the perspective of their influence on human life, since the advent of the virtuality to the “Mixed Reality.” It also researches relationship between these developments and subjectivities, involving agents, avatars and the ciborguization itself. Then, it reasearch interface´s historical role and the social importance of the graphical user interface (GUI) as catalyzer of Informational Revolution as it enabled the machine-user interaction (in physical and mental levels), from which developments are discussed throughout this dissertation master's degree. Then, we discuss about the screen and its role as "window" that gives access to a hybrid universe oriented by new rules and inhabited by a completely different subjectivity known as the user, but now called interactor. The focus is the screen´s mediation function in many different areas of human life, from the enhancement of physical abilities to the opening of new possibilities in art creative processes. Although the focus of this research are the potentialities and conceptual features of the screen, we also present a historical background of the screen development, focusing special attention on tactility and relating it to the touchscreen - for the wide range of applications and possibilities that it opened in the development of mobile devices and the its close relationship with the history of Art. The analysis of applications has been chosen for the purpose of discussing artistic creation through mobile device screen. Despite showing similar features and purposes and dealing with elements of the latest generation of Art Technology creation, those applications result in aesthetic and sensory experiences quite different and new in the field of art. In a general concept, this study aims to analyze the mediation of the mobile screen as a metaphor of this brand new contemporary way of creating in Arts, that does not fit into predetermined categorizations and deals with many questions that still unanswered.
