Summary: The research Os Salões Internacionais de Arte Fotográfica promovidos pelo Foto Clube do Espírito Santo (1958-1978) presents a study on the Salões Capixabas de Arte Fotográfica (Capixaba Photographic Art Salons), in which was examined the photographic visuality awarded and selected by the Judging Committee of the event. It was proposed to investigate the international phase of the photographic Salons, which occurred in the period of 1958-1978, sponsored by Foto Clube do Espírito Santo (FCES), a photographic association club established in Vitória, state of Espírito Santo. The study turned to the specific analysis of selected works and award-winning in Espírito Santo´s halls in his performance at the international level, which thus comprises the period highlighted. Through the contact with the FCES collection, we sought to examine, in addition to documents such as minutes and original images, catalogs prepared for the Capixabas Salons, in particular between the XI and XXVI Salons. Yet, we sought to study, through the selection and award process of the event photographs, the profile, thoughts, speech, intentions and criteria of the Judging Committees of the related issues. It was found that the selection of the winning images set were evident common trends in the photographic scene, as the influence of pictorialism and modern esthetics and photo publicity. Nonetheless, the realization of Salões Capixabas de Arte Fotográfica endeavored by Foto Clube do Espírito Santo, confirmed the official view of the Salon and its artistic, political and ideological project, expanding the photographic art scenario in the state of Espírito Santo.
