Summary: This dissertation discusses the history of the Espírito Santo in parallel with the history about port of Vitória, aiming thereby to encourage and stimulate the study of capixaba culture. For this, a survey was done in secondary source of the colonial Brazil, Empire and the 60s to the present. We tried to emphasize the object under study, this is, the five existing warehouses in Cais Comercial of Vitória, a research was required at primary source. A photo shoot of warehouses and buildings and a survey of plants belonging to the Companhia Docas do Espírito Santo (Codesa) was taken. To this end, the cut chosen was the years from 1908 to 1959 , relevant to the study in question. Large quantities of documents in the warehouses of the port were pooled, trying thereby to build an inventory having as a focus to get closer to the date of foundation of these warehouses. We tried to be in line with the line of cultural heritage and industrial heritage. A study on the preservation and restoration was done and some projects or other alternative uses of those spaces who has as backdrop extend the port-city relationship were presented.
