Summary: This dissertation encompasses, in the internal, philosophical and emotional
dimension, the relations between space and time — or as often punctuated,
space-time — as constitutive elements of artworks, as well as seeking to
investigate certain problematics about the perception in videographic/filmic moving image and the construction of specific environments/installations in the history of art as densities to the study of the postulates constituting the questions put in analysis in the selected artistic works. Investigations into these enlargements are accompanied by between-image works. We also give importance to the American artist Bill Viola, from whom the proposals selected for analysis bring in the depths of his elaborations a dismemberment of the physical and conceptual pertinence that the space-time postulate can encompass. Thus, the research walks in a space-between, considering the expectations that imply and the contradictions that can expose fragmentarily the space-time problem in the circumference betweenfields, connecting installation, video, and so, consequently video installation and cinema.
Keywords: Moving image; Space-time; Video installation; Cinema; Bill Viola
