Summary: This thesis aims to bring up a reflection upon the contemporary artistic
production in three latin-american artists, specifically Janine Antoni (Bahamas, 1962), Teresa Margolles (México,1963- ) and Dóris Salcedo (Colômbia 1958-), this artists explore notions of corporality through the analysis of some sculptural-objectual processes in artistic productions that seem to work repeating or suggesting facts, yet they seem to evade a realistic representation and have a particular interest as protest art work. This three artists use the bodily presence and its relation to real in artworks, in which repetition and impression is what can be seen, we don´t see the original fact, but its memory, its shadow. Is in its encounter with the public that takes an
strangeness, a traumatic anxiety that seems to allow an exit from the ordinariness of day-to-day life and to think in other possibilities to live in this world. The results reveal the artworks as witnesses of lifestyles that allow a review of different states of the poetics of the body engaged with problematics of political order. Keywords: Art, body, Janine Antoni, Teresa Margolles, Dóris Salcedo, memory, materiality.
