Summary: This work presents a study on the concept of book-poem, coined by the poet and artist Wlademir Dias-Pino in the context of the concrete poetry movement that occurred in the 1950s and 1960s in Brazil. From this, it elaborates a reflection on the developments of this practice in the struggles undertaken in this important moment of transition between the modern and the contemporary in the Brazilian art scene. By identifying a series of tendencies and transformations resulting from the use of the book as an art form, this work expands the discussion about what would become a new artistic language and remains as a substantial part of the contemporaryproduction: the artist's book.
